“This is our year” being in Leafs colours hurts. Also I’m sure it’s regional but I’ve always used “two six” for a 26oz bottle and a “mickey” for a 13oz.

Asa poor yurpean, besides the slightly misspelled ‘je ne comprends pas la français’ I understand very few of these.

Can anyone shed a light on these Ontarionist bits of culture?

The “four oh one” is referring to Highway 401 which happens to be the busiest and most miserable road in North America. The other numbers are other highways but they’re usually not as bad.

The 401 looks like this most days.

There’s express and collectors going both directions. You need to merge four lanes over to get over into the collectors to be able to merge four lanes to get off. Oh, it’s also bumper to bumper traffic and nobody is letting you in to change lanes.

Two-four is a case of beer. Twenty sixer is a bottle of booze. 26oz. Muakoka chair is what you sit in down by the dock to drink a two-four and shoot the shit.

Our power company is called hydro-one. So you might complain about your hydro bill.

This is our year is a Toronto maple leafs wishing thier team well.

Right on takes several meanings depending on how it’s emphisised. It would be celebration to simple agreement

      410

      427

      401

Are major highways. You would never say 4 hundred 10, though the 400 is the 4 hundred.

That is more than an Ontario starter pack, I have only spent about two maybe weeks there in total and was well versed in those terms long before.
