      Yes, but they are also the target audience, and they hold up pretty well as a decent adaptation. Not disagreeing on the mid writing, just adding my $0.02

          Can confirm, without the hype that was the book releases being everywhere in the media, my own kids enjoyed the first book and then lost interest.

        They don’t hold up because they are the last fantasy series to ignore mobile phones as a fact of reality. It is dated and timely as a book that is aching to be replaced by a timeless fantasy that speaks to all ages.

    They’ve put out a documentary about the making of this series. Everything looks the same as it did in the movies. They’ve just swapped out the actors. Mostly for worse.

      Even Square Enix uas taking more risks with the FFVII remakes.
