P retty good feeling about canceling Netflix.

I can’t remember the last time I saw something worthwhile.

R eally, it’s just cookie-cutter junk that they are clearly making to check a box.

    A nd for what purpose?

T o just keep us watching show after show rather than do something productive.

E ven when I find a show with a premise I like, it’s so padded with filler I don’t even know why I watch it.

I just think they’ve forgotten the purpose they served, which is provide a service more convenient than downloading.

    T hat’s what I think anyway.

So, how are the creators paid? I’m asking because I think that everyone should be paid for their efforts and at the moment the only available path, crap as it is, appears to be through streaming services, or buying DVD and Blu-ray, neither of which is cost effective or convenient.

The artists that created the content already got paid. The work is created, they got paid. The investors get paid later. If they’ve got a million dollars to make a series people who can barely afford the cost of living at minimum wage don’t need to worry about them.

If the streaming services don’t offer better services, then people will pirate. If you could buy a DRM free version of a movie online, the way you could buy used DVDs or year-old-games in a steam sale, then that would curb movie piracy so much. But you can’t. It’s pay to watch. It’s all pay to watch.

My experience with this is Scroll, Scroll, Scroll, Scroll, Scroll, Watch. Disgust, Repeat.

The only exception is if someone recommends something that never appeared in all the scrolling, in which case the Disgust becomes Dismay when it’s invariably cancelled.

I stopped paying for Netflix some time ago as a result.

Now we pay for a streaming service for a few months and change to the next one. The local free to air channels are now obnoxious and the only palatable one left is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation which has a love hate relationship with closed captioning.

SBS is now actively blocking people with DNS filters, before that, they decided that closed captioning was linked to advertising.

I don’t watch tv. I don’t subscribe to anything but servers and VPNS. I want knowledge… I want opportunity and something worth going after. I see most predetermined pursuits in life as shallow and self serving. It is in your best interest to do the right thing. Creating a real community is in your best interest. It is selfish which is ok. I am too self interested to gaze into the corpo bung hole. I don’t like to be over socialised. I am a wild man who carves his own brain. It is funny and scary how obvious this is. If I am watching main stream news I am trying to pick apart the naritive to see their next move. Fuck the Future For it is no Future at all. I will NEVER do business with these people ever. I am too selfish. I love myself.

Certainly sounds like you carved your own brain. Is this a new copypasta?
