Well of course they should pay for their own power!! They’re private companies! What am I missing here?

This seems reasonable to me.

    Yeah that seems reasonable, I don’t think any sort of deal for power would outweigh any impact on local people for power increase.

    Hell I’d say they need to pay a percentage of any power increase (like not all but something reasonable, I really have no idea like 40-60%?). I have no idea of true impacts of differences but my understanding is we have so many people living close to the line of poverty, why have a datacenter if it makes everything so much more expensive for people not using it? Especially when it’s not like that center is going to do anything but suck power and provide few local jobs.
