Like how does Superman fly and how come he can come back from space without at least getting overly overly hot? How come in Superman going around the planet we don’t see him ever bumping into space debris? How does one control a super heroes or villians power? If it is a villain then that is a lot of hate to practice that much to use correctly or do the auto matically know? Add questions if you like. Thank You in advance.

    compare to:

“Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex” is a 1969 essay in which science fiction author Larry Niven details the problems that the fictional character Superman would face in sexual intercourse and reproduction with a human woman, using arguments based on humorous reconciliation between physics, biology and the abilities of Kryptonians as presented in Superman comic books.

You can’t really apply that kind of hard science to a fantasy medium. Superman is an alien powered by the sun, that’s the entire explanation for his power set. The Flash doesn’t burn calories to run fast, his abilities come from The Speed Force, basically an extra-dimensional energy field. Mutants literally have mutations that give them their abilities.

A lot of this sort of thing is just hand waved. Even Batman who is completely human and relies on physical training and technology, would dislocate his arms swinging around on grappling hooks.

I think for most people the interesting parts of comics are the character interactions and stories, not rigorous scientific explanation of how heat vision works.

But come on there has to be a scientist that can equate Superman leaving the Earth to a NaSA Rocket launch and that defies some gravity? Or one or two have scientific theories about their superheroes? And yes the Flash does burn calories because every iteration of him at least has some or couple of issues, shows or whatever that talk about it. Like Batman Dawn of Justice. Flash carries out a large pizza he is eating on. In the CW show they had 1 or 2 episodes where they talk about it his metabolism being off the charts like his sexual prowess is, that is why Sisco comes up with a drug or whatever so he doesn’t finish to early. There was an episode where Flash is eating a bunch of big belly burger in front of Thawn in Jail and gives to him. To watch Thawn replies we don’t have cows or beef in the future.

There is! His name is James Kakalios and his book, “The Physics of Superheroes” is probably exactly what you’re looking for! I’m a big fan of that book.

Is OK, I remembered. Kyle Hill. He has a few videos on superhero type things, like one on adamantium skeleton, and some others. Pretty legit dude. Maybe not exactly what you’re after but close
