I have these really low points where I cannot do anything, no matter how hard I try. For example, I have a bunch of notifications on Lemmy that I’ve not responded to. No reason other than that I cannot do it.

For things like mod reports, I act quickly. But the other stuff has been difficult for a couple of days.

What do you do to get motivated or get that drive back? “Just do it” doesn’t work for me.

This is one of the reasons I have soooo many unstarted side projects 🙁. It’s hard. Sometimes going for a walk helps. I suspect having an accountability partner would help a lot (assuming that person is up to the task of holding you accountable)

I thought about making an EOD journal to help me track what I accomplished. It’s not a matter of not wanting to do things; something stops me. Like writer’s block.

What do you think is stopping you? Anxiety? Depression? Being overworked?

Mix of all 3. Each is causing another.

I’m sorry about that. Is there something that relaxes you?

Yes, photography and video games (sometimes) relax me. I’ve been doing much more photography lately, which has helped clear my head. I think I’ll do it more; however, I still have this low feeling that doesn’t want to leave.

That’s good that you have found a healthy hobby that you enjoy. It may take time for that lowness to dissipate as you enjoy yourself more.

I’m starting to feel better today. I guess it just takes time, like you said.
