    Which is fair. Taxes that pay for roads come from gasoline sales, so a heavier car (that thus wears roads faster) that doesn’t pay road taxes is not paying their fair share. Aren’t we about fair shares here?

      So you agree Trucks and SUVs should pay more than electric cars then right? It is a scale only based on weight and not bias, to make sure they are paying their fair share?

        Based on their logic, trucks and SUVs do pay more taxes already, since trucks and SUVs consume more gas and need to pay for gas regularly. The current system taxes truck and SUV drivers for the full lifetime of the vehicle and only taxes the electric vehicle owners once.
