They’re noticing that capitalism is completely out of control, but they’ve been propagandized so hard their entire lives that they still have major “China bad”/“Russia bad”/“NATO good” brainworms and those take time to get rid of. This is likely a tipping point for a few of them, where they realize that the anti-tankie crowd doesn’t actually share their ideals and doesn’t actually want the world to become more equal, which can lead them to question their current world view further and slowly hammer away at those brainworms.

Doing actual work builds solidarity and brings people of different politics together, while bickering online does exactly the opposite.I’m an anarchist and I would organize with MLs any day. It’s about moving forward, not just in my super particular anarchist way. If that way is through MLism then that’s the way I go. I support China/Cuba/etc because it’s simply a better direction than other states, and definitely more aligned in my view. Sure not optimal in my eyes but I’d rather work towards that than yell incessantly at everyone and accomplish nothing.
