      They’ll probably never do it unless most markets started requiring it by law. Having a complete monopoly on the port made them many billions, since they got paid not only for all 1st party accessories, but any 3rd party stuff too since they had to be licensed.

        The EU is forcing iPhones to go USB-C by the end of 2024. I assume Apple won’t be releasing two sorts of phones after that.

          I wouldn’t be so sure. Everyone thought App Store changes wouldn’t be limited to EU since it’s a lot of work to geo fence Europe and basically maintain a different App Store, but that’s what they are doing.
