    It’s honesty.

Bob and Linda can say whatever to each other. It’s not “judgement free” it’s that they both accept each other’s judgements.

When you can look your partner in the eyes and say:

    You’re acting insane

It’s a lot healthier than keeping that inside till one day it just explodes.

And if either of them wasn’t getting that constant feedback, they’d be a lot crazier.

Totally agree with what you’re saying, but I’d say that there’s a difference between “judgement” and “feedback”.

I’ll give feedback that she’s totally unreasonable, and she knows that I’m not judging her or thinking less of her for it. There’s a mutual trust thing around feedback like that.

Not only say whatever, they address jealousy. They have a secure relationship, and both of them have moments of insecurity, maybe more so Bob, but they both address said insecurity and come back together.

Unfortunately for me, I thought that Bob and Linda portrayed something unrealistic or unreasonable. Because every time I felt insecure in my relationship, my ex would blame me, and then hang out with her guy friends I’ve never even heard before.

They’re also autistic (pretty much everyone in the family and most of the show it), so that definitely has something to do with it.
