Probably a stupid question, but I had one play session last week and admittedly my buddies and I were drunk, but I recall not being able to hit a damn thing when sniping because I was trying to compensate for bullet drop. Looking at same gameplay videos I assume it’s hitscan gunplay (no bullet drop) but I wanted to confirm.

Nope, it’s projectile-based. You can see your bullet travel as you snipe and there’s quite a bit of drop-off (at least with starting snipers)
It’s not a hitscan. Instead of compensating by draggin your mouse you should try zeroing with alt+mousewheel
