I know Farrakhan has been an ongoing conversation on the bad site and birder recently due to the slew of Black celebrities who’ve come out in support of his nasty creed. Now, reddit libs have made it their mission to make hotep crap seem as if it’s some massive phenomenon in the black community just because Kanye became a Nazi, so I don’t want to make it seem as if that’s the case.
But I’ve been watching old interviews of Farrakhan, and I think I get why black chuds like him. He uses black revolutionary language of yore, dressing himself up as some Malcolm X/Fred Hampton collaborator to first capture his audience and then ease them into the fash. Which is to say, he is charismatic as fuck, just like any famous fash leader ever. And just like every fascist, he uses anger at the material and social consequences of capitalism and points it at the Jews. There’s a video out there of him painting a vivid picture of America’s evil, using classic anti-imperialist language to make a powerful criticism of the great satan….only to follow it up with batshit insanity/anti-semitism.
There’s a reason why the FBI murdered Fred Hampton but leaves Farrakhan alone.
It’s similar to how Bob Avakian was brought all over national television in the 1970s and 80s to represent communists, when someone like Michael Parenti would’ve been lucky to be interviewed by a small-town newspaper.
The only thing better than silencing all leaders of movements opposing your interests, is silencing all competent leaders of movements opposing your interests while leaving the incompetent and divisive ones untouched.

Just like what the nazis did. And that’s why it’s so dangerous to have a fascist that versed in anti-capitalist anti-imperialist rhetoric only to shift the blame to a minority group.
It’s also good to keep in mind that the feds like to work with and boost nationalists like Elijah Muhammad and Farrakhan, because nationalism of that kind tends to serve fed goals of keeping movements divided and providing a dead end to lead people down.
current climate of anti-semitism

The US destroyed the Black Panthers and the Black revolutionary left, and in the wake of that a bunch of really shitty Black leaders like Farrakhan jumped in to to guide the Black consciousness the Panthers had built in a counterrevolutionary direction.
When we got kicked off Reddit and went to discord, there was a channel called the “People’s Podcast” that tried to create a podcast, although they only made like two episodes afaik, but the first one was on shit like Farrakhan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prUFLhM2Urs
A lot of really counterrevolutionary Black organizations grew in the wake of the defeat of the Black Panthers. The Nation of Islam was one - if you listen to a lot of 90s hip-hop (esp. coming out of New York), there’s a lot of language that comes from the Nation of Gods and Earths, an NOI offshoot. What’s up G (G for God), cypher, dropping science. Rappers talking about “mathematics” is five percenters shit. These groups gave Black people self-empowerment, which is why so many young people were drawn to groups like the Five Percenters, but along with that came counterrevolutionary and reactionary outlooks. The antisemitism shit was very prevalent in these groups.
I don’t know too too much about this stuff, but pretty much a lot of this shit has been allowed to blossom in the Black community because true revolutionary groups, like the Panthers, are completely destroyed, while these groups that preach messages not challenging to capital are allowed to prosper. It’s a very interesting history to look into and one that I only really know about on a surface level.
I cannot express how much it sucks that in 2022 Farrakhan is still relevant.
Farrakhan is useful for explaining to white people that black people aren’t a monolith. They have so much trouble with this.
