Lemmy 0.18 broke direct connection to the Lemmy API from web clients with a very strange merge request two weeks ago. I have no idea what the motive was for this to be merged. Suffice it to say, it’s been the source of a ton of headache today. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3191
Luckily, there is a new PR to fix web clients not being able to connect to lemmy instances here: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/3421
If you have a github account, please “thumbs up” this PR. DO NOT COMMENT, that just spams the devs
Thanks! :)
Left a thumbs up for you on GitHub, hope they pull it soon. 👍

Just threw a thumbs up as well. Let’s hope they merge quickly.
If I’m using the webapp how do I update it?
Settings => check for updates
Well I went back and reinstalled the webapp and now I can’t login bc the keyboard isn’t showing up.
Restart, iOS bug 😔
I tried restarting the phone, the browser, etc… but it only lets me login if I’m using safari and not the home screen version.
All good though. Growing pains. The extra traffic is I’m sure giving everyone fits.
Works pretty well even in safari.
I did :)
Thank you for all the work you do on this app! ❤️
Thumbed up!
Thanks it looks good now! Was wondering why Connect was working but WefWef wasn’t
Thanks man! You app guys are killing it :)
That’d include Summit, Thunder, Liftoff, Connect, Mlem, Memmy, Lemming and especially Jerboa
Hell yea - we are spoilt for choice right.
Reading the comments, it looks like breaking clients was the purpose of the original merge.
I had to force close the app and then it updated which fixed most of my issues
