I’ve been using Sync for Lemmy in conjunction with this Lemmy.world account since it first hit the Play store on Android.
For the last month or so, I can no longer successfully upvote or downvote posts or comments within the app. This seems to have been around the time or shortly after the votes changed colors from orange/blue to blue/red for a general time reference; I’m not suggesting that update broke anything, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
Anyone else have this problem?
Solution: I had enabled the setting indicating my account as a bot account. I mistakenly thought this meant I wanted to view bot posts, not that I was indicating my account as a bot account.

The only time upvotes seem to stick is on my own posts.
From what I can tell it’s instance based. I believe some have disabled voting altogether.
For reference and testing. I’m also on sync and I’ll downvote both your top post here and this comment as well as my own.
Another reason to get off world. I figured it could be something like that.

Do you see my downvotes on here? Are you sure that the votes that aren’t sticking are all on lemmy.world? There are a literal fuck ton of instances now and you don’t always notice which one you are responding via.
And if the imaginary numbers mean anything, I’ll revert and upvote you, that wasn’t a statement about your post here, they were a test to see if they stick and to help diagnose.
My posts here were negative for a short while so I’m guessing that was you.
I care less about the imaginary internet points and more about actually upvoting and downvoting things on small communities where one vote actually makes a big difference.
