Since the site has been down for all but a few hours of the last week, I’ve really wanted somewhere I can get a little information about what’s going on.

Is there a mastodon dev account, or an off-site blog or even just a community on Lemmy?

Didn’t he have some sort of health issues a while back? I hope he’s okay, and that includes not being overwhelmed with growth and burnout. Is he also employed? Need family and rest time, sometimes. RL takes precedence.

ETA: it’s possible malicious actors gained control. I’m not saying that’s what happened, I’m saying it’s possible.

I tried logging in on my main account but Kbin wouldnt let me if I used my username it said invalid credentials and if I used my email it just brought up the error 50 thing. I made Matrix space so kbin users can still talk to each other when it is down. #kbin.social:matrix.org
Also Ernest this is a temporary account I don’t mind if it gets deleted.

I started considering hosting my own instance for private or limited use. Any thoughts?

Can’t upvote or boost you, we’ll see if I can reply, because I also want updates.

For the last two weeks, I was able to get only like 10% of the time onto kbin. Maybe even a month. The other times it is “upgrading infrastructure over the next few days” message. I see nothing anywhere explaining what is going on. I finding myself going back to Reddit….

i first went to https://kbin.pub (the site for the software itself), nothing posted there so i followed the link to the repo to check open issues. saw it was being addressed, so i just used a lemmy instance in the interim.
