@startrek Did anyone else read Jammer’s Reviews as a kid? Did you know this guy’s still pumping out reviews?
I wonder if the producers ever took his feedback seriously, or if he’s even on their radar.
3* is harsh imo. Just finished watching and it smashes Voyager’s time travel double. On par with IV. And is a solid character episode, leaning into kirk taking over. Acting wasn’t hammy, nothing to OTT, nice callback to new engineer (though missed a final nod/wink). Wasn’t proper mirror either
4 easily
Episodes 1&2 got 3*, but he’s given episode 3 only 2*, so he thinks the exact opposite of me. I didn’t like 1 (I would’ve preferred if the doctor and the nurse had found a non-violent solution), was bored by 2 (not a real Trekkie, obviously), and 3 was my favourite.
Only discovered him in the last few years, read him all the time. It was a great companion to my BSG watch through.
I did not know this site existed. It looks like there is a huge following! I can add this to my list of sites to check out after the episodes come out.
@End0fLine yeah, this guy was out here doing his thing back before social media, and all there was were guestbooks lol
I think even his comment section was added after a lot of the content was already written, so it’s got comments from lots of people doing rewatches.
Same! I was blown away by the number of reviews, and not just Star Trek!
The other thing that blew me away was the number of comments on the article. I guess it makes sense as Trekkies are a dedicated bunch and his website has been around for a long time!
“as a kid”? Damn, thanks for making me feel old. (He’s the same age as me.)
I discovered him as a teenager in the late 2000s, and was surprised to rediscover him recently that he’s still reviewing Star Trek, and other sci-fi shows like The Orville, etc. Love his reviews even if I don’t always agree.
Also apparently he was invited to pitch stories to the Voyager writing crew, but they all sucked so they were not bought.
