The first movie was Roger Corman’s wacky/horny response to Gremlins. This sequel throws the Gremlins blueprint out the window entirely and instead lifts most of the important story beats from Steven Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Jim Wynorski sits in the director’s seat so it’s a decidedly warped take on that kids classic.

Italian rip-off artist Bruno Mattei’s Shocking Dark actually follows the plot of Aliens most closely, but it does have elements of the Terminator movies as well. It’s kind of dull, but fans of Italian genre cinema owe it to themselves to check it out.
