I have been persuaded that I’m wrong. This is not, in fact, mansplaining.
It turns out that unless it comes from the Mannsplein region of southern Germany, near the Swiss border, it is not “mansplaining”. It’s just “sparkling misogyny”.
Personally I find charms on both sides, smooching-wise. 😜
I actually had someone tell me I should get a Brazilian. We weren’t together long after that, but we split up after I told him I’d get one the day after he got one.
Which part of “boycott USAnal goods over two decades ago” wasn’t clear?
There is currently zero US presence in my life (outside of one vestigial one that is on the queue for replacement). This is rendered simpler for me by not being currently resident in Canada, to be fair.
I moved my Mastodon, Pixelfed, and Lemmy servers to ones outside the USA. I have been running ad blocking software since before it was cool (because Internet ads drive me up the wall with their clumsiness). I don’t use American company web products: no Google Docs, Google Mail, Google Translate, Bing, MS Office, etc. The closest thing I have to something American left in my life is that my Honor phone is based on Android (albeit very heavily modified), but that will change when my phone reaches EOL. My next phone will run HarmonyOS.
Wow. LLM shills just really can’t cope with reality can they.
Go to one of your “reasoning” models. Ask a question. Record the answer. Then, and here’s the key, ask it to explain its reasoning. It churns out a pretty plausible-sounding pile of bullshit. (That’s what LLMbeciles are good at, after all.) But here’s the key (and this is the key that separates the critical thinker from the credulous): ask it again. Not even in a new session. Ask it again to explain its reasoning. Do this ten times. Count the number of different explanations it gives for its “reasoning”. Count the number of mutually incompatible lines of “reasoning” it gives.
Then, for the piece de resistance, ask it to explain how its reasoning model works. Then ask it again. And again.
It’s really not hard to spot the bullshit machine in action if you’re not a credulous ignoramus.
Oh, how nice! But the Chinese don’t need their help.
The language may be respectful, but the act of commenting in a space that has clear rules against their commenting entirely is not respectful. Which is a problem I’ve seen in male-inclusive women’s social circles before (as in pre-Internet). Men think their voices must be heard, even if they’re ostensibly “allies”.
If this were my first rodeo maybe I’d be thinking of reasons for them. It’s not, however. It’s like my seventeenth.
I love how techbrodudes assume nobody else knows how to do what they do.
I did my little test three fucking days before that message. Not years. DAYS.
You understand that a huge part of LLMs is that they are stochastic, right? That you can ask the same question ten times and get ten (often radically) different answers. Right?
What does that tell you about a) your experiment, and b) the LLMbeciles themselves?
Compassionate fucking Buddha, are LLM pushers dense!
Personally I like most of the men in my life. Sure, yes, I have to be wary at times (because “most” doesn’t mean “all”), but overall men are just fine, on average. So I would likely select a mixed block over a women only block. I’d just make sure the doors are solid and the locks work well.
But I’m not all women and I can see rather unfortunately sizable sets of women who would far rather live in a block where there’s only other women around them. And there’s enough diversity in the world that we should be able to accommodate those with that need or desire.

I really do wish I hadn’t decided to boycott USAnal goods over two decades ago. I haven’t got anything left to react with when I see these escalating atrocities.
U.S. Cops? Breaking the law with impunity? But that’s unpossible!
C’mon, Canada! We can bring that to 100%! Go team!
Depending on my mood anywhere from 3 to 7.
Their hallucinations have diminished to close to nothing.
Are you sure you’re not an AI, 'cause you’re hallucinating something fierce right here boy-o?
Actual research, as in not “random credulous techbrodude fanboi on the Internet” says exactly the opposite: that the most recent models hallucinate more.
Huh. So there really is a 凤凰血. Weird how when I tried it (on several AIs) they just made shit up instead of giving me that information.
It’s almost like how you ask the question determines how it answers instead of, you know, using objective reality. Almost as if it has no actual model of objective reality and is just a really sophisticated game of mad-libs.
Almost.
There are, to my knowledge, two pictures of me on the Internet. Total. Both are at least two decades out of date. I haven’t used my real name in any online context (I started with Fidonet) since the '80s. And while I do leak some information about my whereabouts, good luck finding me in a city that’s bigger than the USA’s top city (and is yet only about #10 in China…).
And why the secrecy?
Well, the time I got a phone call at 2AM from a guy in the USA who was absolutely dead-set on “domming” me in an online RPG game, wanting to take it RL kind of informed me I need to be super-careful about any identifiable information.
He’s telling the PRESIDENT OF SIGNAL what Signal is “really doing”.
That’s mansplaining, full-on.
In today’s lesson, Ms. Healey has learned that “fucking around” leads to “finding out”.
I love how they’re trying to frame this as something the governments are driving. They’re not. Canadians are driving this. As in Canadian citizens.
Canadian citizens are deciding they don’t want to buy American goods. Canadian citizens are deciding they don’t want to be stuck in a gulag at the whims of a border guard as “tourism”. Talking heads and billionaire mouthpieces (known by the twee name “governments”) are not going to fix this.
