  • Bolsheviks and Nazis had a lot of common

Close enough, welcome back “red fascism” narrative. Are we going to wave tricolors while yelling “no to communism!” while hand-in-hand with fascists as seen historically?

Hyperboles aside, Bolsheviks and Nazis are polar opposites (with some superficial overlap). Bolsheviks were a revolutionary communist party on a mission to liberate workers and help other communist parties internationally, but it eventually fell into opportunism due to various factors such as underdevelopment, failure to achieve internationalism, Stalin being THE opportunist who later ordered for the old Bolshevik guard to be murdered, etc.

Nazis on the other hand were a direct response to existential capital crisis which stemmed from poor post-war economic conditions and worker militancy/uprisings (that aimed to topple the existing capitalist order, being inspired by USSR). Nazis were there to reinforce and protect capital while crushing the workers.

If anything, a more apt comparison would be between Liberal Democracies and Nazism, given how one directly leads to another once existential crisis hits and workers start to rebel, rhetorical similarities such as nationalism, and both having the exact same purpose which is to ensure capitalist domination over society.

  • It’s still not definitively confirmed that the guy was a right winger, his family might have been MAGA but the guy himself could have very possibly been radicalized recently by the endless ragebait “anti-fascist” posts and did the deed as a result. It would explain the casings at the very least.

From what I’ve seen, the entire assumption that the guy was a rightoid comes from the fact that his family is MAGA and that’s pretty much it.

  • The domain name is a red flag in itself, but looking through steam underground I did find someone with plenty of comments under their belt saying how they got files for some game they shared from that site and 0 mentions of it being malware, so it’s probably okay.

That being said, I’d personally recommend just using bottles for piracy, don’t even bother with native linux ports given how they’re usually worse than windows versions running through DXVK/Vulkan (except maybe Factorio given it’s Linux unique optimizations) using Bottles or something for added security - it’s safer to download them too given how many trustworthy repackers package them.

The coup was lowkey the best and worst thing that happened to Allende. His policy of “revolution through reform” and the way he went about implementing it was genuinely nonsensical if you read about it (going for some half-baked ground between capitalism and socialism that just didn’t work and was a large part why the insane inflation happened + didn’t dismantle capitalist power structures which all but guaranteed the coup to happen eventually), but because of the coup that’s all swept under the rug and he’s a martyr.

  • I’m definitely on the side of marxist feminists (which is one of the bigger branches/theories in the feminist spaces), which is one of the major theories that is based on class analysis and one that recognizes how capitalism and patriarchy (which are not being conflated into one) are interconnected and support one another.

It’s also opposed to bourgeois feminism, which might deliberately omit systemic causes behind oppression (see: the original post) and just aims to benefit women at the top while working class women get shafted.

Hope this answers what my stance is at least.

  • The subtleties of who is and isn’t the bourgeoisie takes a level of brain power that the average person just does not have today.

Yeah, the subtleties of “whoever owns a business/land” or “whoever owns capital” or “capitalists and landowners”.

The hyperfixation on billionaires shifts the blame from the system and class society to the personal excesses and individual wealth concentration of those at the tippity top. It also completely ignores how billionaires get to where they are (what happens with businesses below 1 billion) and has the implication that they’re the “small guys who might be good as opposed to evil billionaires”, which normalizes and legitimizes the system. Besides, you can’t really focus just on the billionaires via reformism given how they own most of the power and can lobby the shit out of any bourgeois government, leaving anti-billionaire talk just talk.

This narrative should be actively fought against, not accepted given how it aids and reinforces the system.
