Father to a Son by Green Day
I had a very poor relationship with my father and that song just makes me sad and very angry.

Halo Reach duos was my peak Halo time. I enjoyed playing it with a friend of mine, we used to play duos for hours. Seeing it on PlayStation feels kind of weird, but if they do cross platform play, I won’t complain.
That said, I haven’t played in a few years and I don’t really see myself picking it back up.

I live in an area that the seasons don’t change much and the average temp all year round is about 70F. Most of the year, everything has a layer of dust on it because it’s so dry. During this time of year, my favorite is when it rains. Everything looks fresh and clean and all the succulents and plants grow and become very green. It makes me appreciate the green more, I love living in a more arid climate.

I’m sorry you lost your first bun. Sounds like you really loved and cared for him well. REWs are so misunderstood and I’m happy yours is getting used to you, some buns just take a while to get comfortable around humans. They are such sweet little creatures, although my young boy is going through his terrible twos right now 😩🙃
I love all pets, but there is something truly special about earning the love and trust of a prey animal whose every instinct is to run and hide. They really are something special.

Thank you! I appreciate that :)

Thank you!

My first bunny passed away in January. He was the first pet I had as an adult who was strictly my responsibility and no one else’s. A rabbit’s lifespan is typically 8-12 years old. My gray boy lived until he was just a few weeks shy of 13 years old.
I’m proud I took such good care of him and proud he stuck around so long. I still miss my fella a lot, but I’ve used what he taught me to adopt and care for 2 rescue rabbits; one who was dropped at a shelter when she was 3 and another young guy who was found dumped in a parking lot. They are going to be just as spoiled as my grey boy was.

Currently reading All That We See Or Seem by Ken Liu. I’m a pretty big fan of his, I’ve read a lot of his short stories, but this is the first novel I’ve read. The pacing is great and I feel it’s pretty relevant to things going on in current times. I’m about halfway through and probably going to finish it over the weekend.
I finished Polaris Rising by Jessie Mihalik and I loved it. I’ll definitely be reading the next 2 in the trilogy.

The Expanse is the one series I wish I could read again for the first time. It’s so good!
Yeah….thats me year round lol
I have thick flannels for winter when it’s cold. I have thinner flannels for summer because any air flow over my shoulders makes me cold 🤣
Red Mars, but not for the reason you are asking.
My mom bought the paperback edition for me when I was 9 years old, when I was first started reading sci-fi books (thank you Animorphs for that intro). It was my first real “adult book” and it’s been knocking around in my collection for 32 years, moved with me across the US, and various other moves. It’s probably the one book that has been in my collection the longest. I didn’t read it until I was in my early 30s and I enjoyed it. I read Green Mars too, but I need to finish the trilogy.
I am interested in his Ministry of the Future book and I’ll read it at some point.
You are not alone. I have a handful of movies and shows I like to watch, but my excess time is usually spent reading books, browsing thrift stores and library shops for books, or reading articles about books. I also splash a little World of Warcraft, gardening, and house chores in there too.

I do enjoy them but I’m a bad gamer (I only play one game consistently). I added it to my wishlist to check out when it’s on sale. Thanks for the info!

I use a custom wallpaper. It’s a screenshot of Miller from The Expanse because he is my favorite character. My screensaver images are also from The Expanse.

Yes! I have always loved the parasaurolophus!

I don’t really watch a Halloween movie every year, but something like The Ghostbusters would be a good one for me. They are some of my favorite movies anyway.
At Christmas time, I really enjoy watching Just Friends with Amy Smart and Ryan Reynolds. It’s cute, it’s funny, and it has a holiday theme.

I adopted some large beautiful succulents over the weekend. I am moving some of my other plants to the front courtyard with the new ones since the sun doesn’t hit our backyard right at the moment.
Now I get to figure out how I want to arrange them for the winter months. A couple smaller ones fit in an unused water fountain and I kind of like that look, but I do need to find some other items to decorate a bit 😁
Edit: I had some gorgeous morning glory plants that were winding up a wooden structure in the backyard. It was so pretty, but the plant got a bad case of spider mites while I was on vacation and I had to cut it all down to avoid the spread. Just means more plant pots to play with now 🤣

Thanks! I’ll give that a try next time.
I just finished All That We See Or Seem by Ken Liu. I really enjoyed it, I love anything that guy writes. I picked up What If by Randall Monroe because I saw it at the library bookstore for a dollar after seeing it mentioned here.
I’m kind of in a crappy funk and I don’t know what to read next, this hasn’t happened in a while. Trying to decide between scifi romance Aurora Blazing by Jessie Mihalik. Or some dark romance like Hooked by Emily McIntire. Or The Book Censor’s Library by Bothayna Al-Essa. Or something more cozy like a found family thing to get me out of this funk.
I have no idea.
