That’s any interesting idea. Curious to see if it would work.

May be they already realize it, meaning, they saw all the popular communities already created here, and would much rather stay there as mods.
I didn’t know api changes means 3rd party apps no longer can show nsfw content. Nobody’s going to pay a subscription and not be able to see stuff that they can see on the official app. Looks like reddit is giving all 3rd party app developers a shitty deal whichever way you cut it.
Yeah I wouldn’t have ever signed up for lemmy if this api thing hadn’t come about. This is my first fediverse experience. I was pissed at reddit, but now I don’t care about reddit one way or another. Lemmy has gained enough users to sustain itself even if there is no more mass migration. There is an active community here that will help lemmy grow organically over time.
You can replace the “Yeah, I second that” with “Block the mobile webpage and force to use app”, because they just started doing that for some users. I’m not kidding.
This happening in the middle of the API gate seems like a pretty dumb move, even for Reddit.
Over the years I’ve become a glass half full kind of a person when small people fight against big corporations. Eventually the dust settles, and the people give up, but the company goes on. There are exceptions, but this has been the norm. I would be pleasantly surprised if all this actually brings Reddit’s downfall.
I think there are two reasons. I think Reddit has way more ‘normal’ users than Digg who feel strongly about this, and there is no one single Reddit to replace Digg this time around. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
DESERT encapsulates my life perfectly
He ‘doubled down’ because there was nothing else he could do. Iamthatis was meticulous in his takedown, and short of apologizing, there was nothing spez could say to make it better.
I don’t get this weird need to be contrary to everything, doesn’t it get exhausting?
This fediverse instancing thing needs a lot of getting used to. I created the same account on both places, and now need to make sure which account is active based on which site I clicked the post on. I suppose the solution is to log out of one of the servers and just stay logged in to the other.
I think it’s a bit too early for that for me. Currently I’m starting to participate in beehaw as well as use reddit on Apollo, so I don’t mind if I don’t see stuff here that I have(had) on reddit, but once Apollow shuts down, I’d be using beehaw/lemmy more than I use reddit, and at that point I might mourn some nice things that were destroyed by the reddit admin team.
I’m fine with this, as long as the devs check to verify if their game works well with proton and provide support if it breaks.
Yeah that seems like a very important safety feature. Any idea why Tesla went against that to a shatter proof glass? It’s not like this is a presidential suv or something
Hope this succeeds so that other companies can try this
Regata OS is a gaming oriented customization of Opensuse Tumbleweed. I’ve been using it for a year without issues.
Just make sure to go back in a day or two to make sure your comments/posts stay deleted. Reddit restored all my posts/comments that I edited using Power Delete Suite is back to its original content.
