I mean, I don’t know how much of an issue bots are going to be. There hasn’t really been any issues on indie-ver.se, but I will definitely keep this in mind. Thanks!

Silksong@indie-ver.se•Did Hornet being a talking protagonist change how you perceive/play her in contrast to the silent protagonist in Hollow Knight?English
18·14 days agoI think that her dialogue makes me understand the world better and thus self-insert better. It gives some motivation as two why I want to save the kingdom, but still keeping a lot of mystery and uncertainty. So I like it a lot.
Also, thanks to @BentiGorlich@infosec.pub for letting me know of the issue in the first place.

3·15 days agoWell. You probably want some pictures. For a site icon, for your pfp etc. which necessitates setting up the image server. You can quite easily stop your server from caching external images, as I’ve just done, so only your local images are stored. I don’t know about disallowing user uploaded images entirely. Maybe you can set an upload limit of 0 or smth?

2·15 days agoI just set up our S3 image storage, which costs us 6.27€ pr. TB. (with Hetzner)
Actually, how do you backup your images? I am bit unsure of what to do here, since the objects aren’t really managed by me.
I am happy to tell you, I made some changes to the rate limits.
Holy well done! Good first attempt at pixel art.

31·15 days agoI mean, 1.2TB isn’t that much in terms of price, but it’s still a heck of a lot. I’m gonna look into proxying, and disabling the caching. Thanks!

4·15 days agoYup, yup and yup. The only CSAM protection I have currently, is Cloudflare warnings, better minimize the amount the potential for such things to be hosted by me.

3·15 days agoYup. This is my thought process exactly. One gigabyte, for 20 days of being properly online, is not much. My cost is around 6€ pr. month pr. terabyte (pretty nice), but I have no idea how my usage will grow.

1·19 days agoI think that is up to you. If you don’t want to have to lemmy accounts, dm me and I will create the community for you.
The name could also be IndieGameReviews or IndieGameRecommendations. I like Recommend A Game as well.

2·20 days agoThis could be a good idea, and if we can come up with a concrete name that we all can agree on, I will gladly make it for you.
Even though you are not from this instance, I can still make you the owner of the community, if you’d be up for that? If you want to mod that community, send a name that could be a good fit for the community, which also narrows down the exact purpose of the community.

3·23 days agoThis is very useful. Thanks!
What I would really like to see from both options, is a more in depth admin control panel. Some pieces of Piefed are bit to opinionated for me as well, and the toggles it has seems arbitrary. Neither Lemmy nor Piefed has a nice and super customizable admin UI.
