Unfortunately that’s true :(
Only thing we can do is try to make the world a better place one by one

I think I’d way prefer the German way to the Southern way.
Yea I’m definitely the exact opposite in that regard
These racist people have no reason to wander around. Imagine having the wrong skin brightness and encountering one of these racist people in the middle of nowhere and they have a gun!
Man that sounds so much like me, so at least I’m not alone. Maybe it’s some curse about the Germans. I wouldn’t recommend judging people from just online though since that often is pretty misrepresentative from how they actually are. So even if some of the Germans were nice online, belief me there are a lot of not so nice Germans including my parents.
But you’re definitely right especially about the last part.
Yea I don’t think that’s the case. And even if I would still take fake friendliness over cold honesty every day. I think the stereotype of “fake friendliness” is more associated with areas like California/LA. I know some people from the South and they’re genuinely nice (and I can tell it’s real. I see it very quickly if someone is faking it). But as I stated in my post there are always assholes everywhere
I always hear they have great hospitality in the south.
I mean the AFD hates all migrants and they make almost 20% of Germanys population…
Lol, I like that XD. But it’s probably true. I think there might be something about Germans that makes them overly efficient/structured to the point where they lose the humor and warmth. Like as if they lack being “casual” and seem very uptight. Does that make sense?

Is life actually that much harder in America compared to other countries? I’ve watched a YouTuber who moved from Germany to America and he said Americans are working way much more and have less free time. Is that true?
What is all that unnecessary attack for? Have you even ever been to Germany? My therapy got paid with normal insurance. Just gave the therapist the card to scan and that was it. I had 2 appointments every week for years. That was at least my experience as a now 21 year old German (I had therapy from when I was 16 until I was 20).
So you would say America is better in this regard?
Holy hell, is this real? Do they actually say “ASAP” in the letter? That feels threatening
Wow 10 visits are very little. I used to go to a therapist for years, 2 times per week. I didn’t had to pay a cent but I ended it at some point cause I felt the therapist wasn’t helpful anymore.
But judging by what comes across the ocean via the internet… A lot of Americans seem to talk about their anxiety, depression and how it affects them…
I got a similar impression because I listen to the rapper Juice Wrld and he basically constantly talks about the deepest mental health issues in his music.
And from what I’ve heard from other people and the news, we (Germans) don’t have enough therapists or doctors. It takes quite some time to get an appointment, even if you badly need one. So I’d say we don’t have a lot of them.
Would you say it’s more about not having enough therapists in Germany or having too many people who seek them. Cause when it comes to the amount of therapists there always have been some in the areas I lived even in small towns. The problem for me was always to get an appointment cause they already had lots of patients and requests for new patients and were overwhelmed by that.
I just posted it in different communities cause Lemmy is quite small and I wasn’t sure what the right place to post is where I could get answers. I’m deleting the posts that didn’t get answers
Yea probably this lifetime paradise/heaven-like experience might not exist. Hopefully after death though. It just basically always felt like that where I’m from doesn’t feel like the right place and that I might feel truly home somewhere else.
Thanks for the answer. I always had a fantasy about going to California. I imagine the place to be beautiful with all the palm trees, beaches with warm/open-minded people and I bet they have great resorts too. But I also heard about the dark site that it might not be as many would imagine it in terms of the people and that there’s also a big problem with poverty, injustice and homelessness.
Nice insight and great advice, thanks!
Yes that’s exactly it! I definitely realized that and it makes me extremely mad especially when it comes to my parents and particularly my dad. It’s like you have to do it in that specific way that they think is the only correct way even though that way doesn’t even make any sense. But they will fucking lecture you about it as if you’re stupid or something and tell you you’re not living correctly. Such retarded mf’s😤
