Dry brining is nothing more than putting salt on meat and letting it rest for a period of time. Calling someone “glibly ignorant” for not knowing those culinary terms, and describing their process as “adding salt pepper to a carrion pile” is reductive, elitist, and arrogant, no windmills about it.

10·5 hours agoJury nullification isn’t some official* legal procedure or anything, it’s just the principle that a jury can choose to find someone not-guilty for reasons outside of the facts of the case at hand - they may think the law being broken is unjust, or they may think the punishment for the crime is too harsh, or they may just be protesting the legal system in general. It’s possible because generally two things are true about a trial ruled on by a jury of peers - a jury can’t be punished for an “incorrect” verdict, and a defendant can’t be tried for the same crime twice.

4·3 days agoThe Epic Games Store is a user data collection platform first, and a pretty bad game store/client second. It’s slow, buggy, difficult to navigate (though that’s somewhat subjective), and sometimes doesn’t work without an Internet connection, even for games you already have downloaded locally and installed.
Disclaimer: I understand that any games store, including Steam, collects user data. But at least those other stores provide working, user friendly features in exchange for the data collection they do.
