    For me it is definitely perception. There is a German saying which goes:

    Gut gemeint ist nicht gut gemacht.

    Which literally translates to „well intended is not well done“ and I agree

      Bad intentions won’t bring you well done though, only by chance. I’d much rather rely on a person with good intention who will fail and learn from it, and I can assume their intention will be good the next time, more likely to produce good result.

      This saying you mentioned only undermines confidence, learning and will to attempt.
