It would be better to focus our efforts on getting folks out to vote rather than wishing death upon a man. A strong turnout would be an easy win for Kamala.

Wishing for someone to attack your rivals is something Trump does. A lot.

Surely you consider yourself to be a better person than Trump, right? So don’t use his shitty behavior to excuse your own.

I want to be a better person than my enemies, but I make an exception for my conduct towards them specifically. Nobody ever won a fight by being nice, and I have no moral qualms about wishing for someone to reap what they so relentlessly sow.

No, at this point Trump is his own worst enemy. Better he stay alive than die and become a martyr that the next guy can put words in the mouth of

I wish death on Putin and Netanyahu because they’re inhuman monsters. I hope that’s okay with you.

No, because I subscribe to Kantian ethics. You can’t make an ethical rule and add exceptions.

Explain how wishing someone would die is unethical. Do you think the world works on Tinkerbell rules? Putin and Netanyahu are old men. Old men die. I wish they’d go ahead and die already. Where’s the lack of ethics?

There’s a difference between wishing death upon them and death my natural causes.

Do you think it’s okay to be going around and telling people “I wish you would die”? If it’s not okay for some people it’s not okay for all people per Kant

It’s not okay to tell people who aren’t actively committing atrocities that one wishes they would die. I apply that to all humans equally.

You didn’t say the method of death mattered.

And no one here is telling Trump, Putin or Netanyahu that they wish they would die because chances are no one here would be able to get close enough to them to do it. And if they did, they’d be the ones who would die.

So you can keep bringing up Kant, but you’re being both inconsistent and bringing up something irrelevant.

It is some magical thinking that they want to participate in. Most of us would agree it’s not okay for the government to punish people for no reason. Therefore it is unethical to punish any criminals, per Kant. Lunacy.

                    That’s not how it works.

I like Kant because it provides for this:

All humans should have the right to marry who they want to.

Because trans and gay people are people, it’s unethical to deny them the right to marry because it would be an exception to the rule.

The rule you would advocate for would be:

                    People should not harm others.

That rule would mean that harming people is unethical.

Why do you expect others to subscribe to your particular interpretation of one particular philosopher’s ethical framework?

Okay and? I hate Trump too. Doesn’t mean I’m going to wish death upon him. I want him to face justice for every shitty thing he’s ever done.

I want Biden and/or Harris to reform the Supreme Court and for Judge Cannon to lose her job based on her inability to be impartial.

          But death? No

isn’t treason punishable by death? And he being very treasonous, not just by inciting the january riots but also by blatantly undermining the Supreme Court and Democracy as a whole (no longer need to vote).

But yeah, lets justice, once it has regained its integrity, prevail.
