Which is why philanthropy is bullshit and shouldn’t be a thing. Help for the needy should come from the government.

Agreed, although, that money should come from proper taxation of the very richest.

In the US at least, we already pay more every year in welfare programs than we could afford even if we wealth taxed our “very richest” at literally 100%. Nearly $800 billion. Yearly. This is not a solution.

We as a country pay more than enough taxes already, period. It’s the government not spending it efficiently, and not being held accountable when it doesn’t.

As just one example, the US government already pays more per person for healthcare than any other nation on the planet. But how many health categories are we first place in? We put the most in, we should be getting the most out, right?

And when they do give that ~5%, they want adoration. Always remember charity is the failure of the state. Tax those hoarders so that 400 is flattened.

Charity is up to the whim of an individual, whereas welfare is more like what society as a whole agreed is the right thing to do.

Is charity not a duty to humanity too? I don’t understand the distinction.

The majority just give enough to lessen their tax burden. Should have at least a 50% wealth tax on anyone on the Forbes 400. Fucking vampires.

There is no amount of charity you can give that results in you having more money than if you hadn’t, Kramer.

The problem is 100% of what. There are so many paper tricks to make a billionaires income add up to zero.

“100% of all assets and income over a billion” might work, but you still have the problem of whose opinion do you take on the value of an asset.

100% of income. If they hide income, they’re a criminal.
