Summary
Trend underlines vast gender divide as election approaches, as experts say some women face pressure to ‘toe the line’ politically at home.
A TikTok trend of women “canceling out” their partners’ votes highlights a gender divide in the 2024 election, with many young women supporting Kamala Harris while their male partners back Trump. Campaigns encourage women, especially those in conservative households, to vote independently, emphasizing privacy through ads featuring voices like Michelle Obama and Liz Cheney. Conservatives like Charlie Kirk and Jesse Watters criticize these efforts, claiming they undermine family values.
I wonder if there’s a trump suppoerter out there somewhere who is deathly afraid to tell his liberal wife. What are the chances guys? 0.01%?
High, especially if they’re younger. Half of Gen Z and 40% of Millennials have lied about who they vote for in what researchers believe is an attempt to not strain work, familial, or social relationships. 27% Democrats, 24% Republican and I think 20% of Independents.

I’m going to grant you the statistic, sadly the misogyny runs very deep in this country.
And I’ll point out it still sets up the same dichotomy as “men fear a woman will laugh at them, women fear a man will rape and/or kill them.”
This, exactly. A male Trump supporter lies about voting for Trump because he fears being ostracized.
A female Harris supporter lies about voting for Harris because her partner might kill her.
If this wasn’t true, we wouldn’t need the “Your vote is secret” messaging from the Dems.
