Sigh…
One isn’t enough
Obviously one wasn’t enough.
People need to keep sending the message until they get the point. We just need to treat it like the Biblical story of the plagues in Egypt. We’re now at the stage where we ask nicely for systemic improvements. When they decline, another, more severe ‘plague’ befalls them, and we repeat the process.
Except in that fable, god specifically and deliberately prevented the pharo from making any other choice.
This God fella and his pharaoh lacky need to be deposed it seems.
They are clearly unqualified for the important job of being in charge.
Will anger at health insurers spur action? Democrats
pessimisticcomplicitExactly. They’re pessimistic because they know their donors won’t allow change to happen.
I can name one action it spurred.
If it doesn’t spur one it’ll probably spur another?
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” - John F. Kennedy
Democrats beat Medicare, mostly
Spoiler: yes.
Will it stop Trump?: No. His followers are fucking idiots.
I do want to point out that The Adjuster is super popular across the whole political spectrum - from trumpians to Bernie bros. EVERYONE hates health insurance companies in the US. It’s truly the most broadly bipartisan issue that the citizenry has agreed upon in decades.
Tell that to the GOP cronies trying to kill ACA and privatize everything. They seem to LOVE the insurance industry, and handing those people money hand over fist.
Politicians: absolutely.
Normal people: absolutely not.
Such a bizarre campaign this year. In polls almost nobody placed healthcare above immigration in importance. Yet, after Luigi it has become clear that healthcare is in fact a winning issue.
I don’t really think it will go anywhere. It looks like they’re fully throwing the book at Luigi Mangione and all the news is hitting the propaganda hard, so I imagine there’ll be a lot of talk and memes about Doing The Thing, but nobody will really Do The Thing.
