Inclusion and Acceptance
Embracing inclusion and acceptance means listening when people tell you who they are and what their needs are. It means not telling people that you know their experiences better than they do. It means not gatekeeping experiences of identities of others. It means no bigotry such as racism, sexism, anti LGBT commentary, ableism etc. It means doing your best to ensure that you don’t over-talk the voices of folk who don’t share your privileges.

I only posted there previously because I didn’t understand that “Don’t offend people’s identities” meant “We’re all playing make-believe here and you need to play along”; I thought it was about respecting trans and NB folk, who exist here in the real world, unlike fantastic creatures and those who identify themselves as having sex with them.

I don’t know a lot about transracial folks and I don’t understand them, so I don’t think I could give you an informed opinion. Would you consider them to be invalid in your eyes? Would it warrant disrespecting someone upon hearing they were transracial?

I would not regard a white guy at the age of 25 who decided he was black as black in any meaningful sense, nor would I play along with the idea, no. And, in fact, my opinion of them would be considerably lowered by the fact that they’re misusing racial identity as some kind of fashion statement, that they’re damaging the very real struggles of black folk by doing so, and by the fact that the very idea of transraciality shows a severe paucity of understanding of what race is and means in modern society.
