Does the alt part of a post federate? I always put transcripts in those, but people usually say they can’t read them.
Maybe that’s why! I don’t think it does. Whisky I didn’t know you could add alt on lemmy at all.
Yeah, this is a screenshot of the post form on the default lemmy ui, there is an “alt text” section that appears if you upload an image.
On Linux there’s https://github.com/tesseract-ocr/tesseract, which is FOSS. There’s several Android apps on f-droid that use it:
