I haven’t seen this happen exactly, but I’ve seen other issues with dog owners that make this unsurprising to me. The other day, I saw a large dog harassing a chihuahua at a dog park, and the owner of the large dog just smiled and said “Oh, he just thinks your dog is a rabbit”. He eventually distracted the big dog with a squeaky toy and got him away, but I was wondering if I was going to witness a murder.
