I think it will be a badge of honor. I’m not trying for it, but I’m also not willing to diminish my opinions. In my opinion, we are all humans, on a fragile planet that is dying more rapidly by the day. Putting up false barriers between us only highlights our primate origins. I’m not a chimpanzee, nor are you. We should dialogue.

Perhaps, with a rational dialogue, we can come to terms. If you can understand any of the words I just used.

My account on Reddit had been banned by so many communities. Though I was usually trolling TERFs for the fun of it. I was especially mean to them. Terrible, in fact.

I’d rather be banned from a space for holding firm in my convictions than keep quiet so that I can remain a member of the club.

That reads like a sentence directly out of r/iamverysmart.

Taking a toke of self-aggrandizement, a bit of “woe is me” and throwing a side-eye at “Karen”.

You can’t really be banned from lemmy, though, you can always just make another account.

I feel like my experience here is very different from most people’s. I’m certainly not saying they’re incorrect about what kind of interactions they have that are so off-putting, but I also block anyone and anything that takes away what little joy I can derive from this place.

I’m not here to debate politics or see what I should be mad about, or for people to tell me how to feel about X, Y, or Z. I’ve got plenty of that in the real world. I come here to escape from that with memes, jokes, and interesting shares. I get my news and current events, in moderation/healthy doses, from actual news sites (and block them here), and I stay plenty informed without a peanut gallery of people banned from Reddit telling me how to feel or knee-jerking to this or that (usually some form of violence).

My advice: If your encounters here are overwhelmingly from people constantly putting up false barriers (which is a charitable way to put it, I might add, and I may steal that aphorism), then I cannot recommend the “Block” button enough. Works for people, communities, and whole instances.

If that’s not enough, maybe switch instances to one that’s better modded from the top or provides a specific vibe. startrek.website is great for that if you’re a Trekkie. Beehaw is, last I heard, also pretty chill and well modded though it’s still less federated for reasons I don’t even know still apply.

In response, in silliness, I will tell you a silly joke.

What is a pirate’s favorite letter?

Most would think it’s the Arrrr, matey.

      But ye’d be wrong.

Because a pirate’s first love be the C.

Ah, the halcyon days, with nothing to look forward to except open skies, grass and a kiss on a cheek.

I mean you will really have to work at it considering how many instances there are. Also sounds like you need to use block. This space is a lot like an mmo chat. Easiest way to go is to peruse all and block as needed. I block sports and meme communities because I have no interest in them. Often times really niche communities if im not super geeky with the thing. And of course nutters. I mean climate change is a pretty popular topic on here so im not sure how you have had so many negative experiences around it.
