Sorry (🍁) we did this without making a post, but after receiving several
complaints we defederated from hexbear.net [http://hexbear.net] yesterday.
Here’s a few quick examples of poor conduct by hexbear users: - Spamming
bullshit links to the pig poop picture:

[https://lemmy.cas/u/AccountVerificationBot@hexbear.net] - General trolling:

the pig poop emoji repeatedly and not adding value to discussions:

exections of landlords: https://lemmy.ca/comment/2154580

but that didn’t work: https://hexbear.net/post/280770?scrollToComments=false

Please try to keep the dirtbag lib-dunking to hexbear itself. Do not follow the
Chapo Rules of Posting, instead try to engage utilizing informed rhetoric with
sources to dismantle western propaganda. Posting the western atrocity propaganda
and pig poop balls is hilarious but will pretty quickly get you banned and if
enough of us do it defederated. Realize that you are a representative of the
hexbear instance when you post on other instances.
Looks like we upset a few too many residents over at lemmy.ca. I didn’t see a post about this on here, so I thought I’d go ahead and make one.
2 of 4 reasons why are basically just PPB lol, and a third is for calling for executions of landlords
A lot of those are pretexts for defederating I think
What rubs them the wrong way is our position on various issues (despite them being far more deeply argued and sourced than the paltry answers we usually get)
Also, admittedly and to a lesser degree, likely the fact we’re numerous and terminally online so anytime something dunkable is posted even the small subset of online hexbear users that see it appear on their feed and interact must look like an army to them
Guilty. I will happily reply to every single comment in a thread without even really thinking about it. People think I’m stalking them and it’s like “nah, I’ve just made twenty comments in every single post that was posted today, that’s all”.
Honestly I can understand why XYZ mod/admin (idk how Lemmy works I just go on ‘chapo.chat’) would not be happy with people spamming huge emojis and PPB (I don’t like it tbh, it’s gross! I like my pigs clean) and if that was the main reason for defederation if attempts at stopping it hadn’t worked I’d frankly understand it.
But the other stuff (the implication that this is a Chinese propaganda subreddit(?)) is a bit more confusing to understand. I mean I’m not “pro-China” and I’ve never been abused or dunked on or whatever on here because, I’d like to think, I approach my position with thought and care. I mean I could put more effort into it (e.g., more effort w/ sourcing) but honestly I can’t be arsed. But yeah, if it’s just “defederating because anti-west geopolitical stance” then it’s on them, really. If they want a narrow political window of discussion then it’s just whatever…
For me discussion-when it’s serious/decent effort and especially when it’s sourced-can be a genuine source of gaining knowledge and challenging your own views even on social media like this. If some people are not (and I don’t know how to say this without sounding like a twat) open to challenging their own preconceptions and hegemonic culture then let’em wallow in ignorance. There are others who are not so politically docile.

They defederated us for being perfect posters
We did everything right and they defederated us, folks
They hate Trump because he dismisses them and posts better than them, not because the valid reasons. They hate us for the same reason
