OK can you explain how to make a post? Do I navigate to subscribed communities, click on respective community then post? I have only ever posted using apps, so am confused.

Seriously I hate covid. I got it last September and for a whole week my food tasted bland. I hated it, considering I am a foodie and love food. I don’t want that to happen again ever.

I purposely joined sffa so I could easily tailor my all feed. On bigger instances their’s too much stuff I am not interested in and blocking a whole bunch of communities in very time consuming. I think this is an advantage of smaller instances.

Well, I am not young, being in my late thirties. The last time I used social media was Facebook, which I stopped using back in 2015. Back then I just got bored. I realised that didn’t care in the least about most of the few hundred Facebook “friends” I had and completely lost any interest in scrolling my feed. Since then the only social media I have used was reddit and now lemmy. I think I enjoy this more since the focus is more on the topic/content than people. I have also tried out Instagram and twitter, but didn’t find anything to hold my interest. Lately I have started using Mastodon. It’s mostly an experiment on my part, let’s how long I use it before getting bored. It actually baffles me what do people, who spend hours on various social media, find so interesting! Like what really engages them?
