Behold:
Breaking a cable with style!
Bad for the charging port. You know, that hole with 24 extremely tiny wires and pins? Once that’s damaged, you have a brick, not a phone.
This is why I believe in UK plug supremacy. Extreme support, extreme safety. Be extreme today. Convert to the UK plug
That’s make the phone pretty bulky
They’re talking about the USB port. Which might have been inferred from “24 pins”.
I think they were taking about the lightning port on the iPhone.
You may hide now before the europlug F squad I called gets here.
Schuko is way nicer and isn’t a landmine when left on the floor.
You don’t have wireless charging as a backup?
I don’t think I have seen many phones with that feature.
You… haven’t seen many phones that can charge wirelessly? In 2024??
the phones with that feature are way to expensive
A backup, sure. But I use Android Auto every day. Also, I wouldn’t be able to charge it from my power bank or use headphones if the USB-C port was damaged.
Phones are pretty light as long as you set it in there gently and didn’t do it often it wouldn’t hurt anything.
You can’t assert that. Not to a certainty.
Or you open it up and replace the daughterboard holding the port. Worked fine when I did it for a friend.
Is that actually how you spell, what I thought was, “dotter board”?
Yeah, motherboard, daughterboard.
Oh so no sonboard or fatherboard?
What kinda of world do we live in?..… 😔
Considering you plug the daughterboard into the motherboard quite often, sonboard might be the more appropriate term, because of the male plug type. But maybe people didn’t quite want to raise the spectre of motherfuckers.
Not to mention the implied incest lmao
At first, I wasn’t sure where I was supposed to be looking. Thank you red arrow.
I can’t see any red arrows, can anyone help me with a red circle?
OK
What is this brown arrow and why does it taste like copper?
Absolutely the worst DC character
I can see it from your pov. But my favorite band is ween. And brown is the highest of compliments.
Honestly why hasn’t anyone thought of this before? It’s SO SIMPLE
Is that conductive? 😳
Only until molten.

With a high enough mains voltage absolutely.
I thought the hook is made of metal… is it not?
The ones I’ve seen are extruded plastic shaped that way.
If the cable is that long, why not just set it on the floor?
the phone would topple until its done precisely
I’m a huge fan of creating a meme about another person, and using a drawing like this. It allows the person to remain anonymous.
She looks happy, at least. Maybe it’s kinda meditative. You don’t want to move too much. Just sit, relax, and be a table.
Be a
goldfishtable.
Modern problems require modern solutions
I didn’t realize heads were a recent invention.
They aren’t new per se, but few people actually use them
Around 1789 it wasn’t as common as today.
It’s brilliant in its simplicity. I’d never think of that. I’d try to overengineer something out of the environment, but with less skill than MacGyver.
I would just stand and hold it. Or see if it could reach a pocket
I would just pull out the longer cable from my backpack. Or use the power bank I have in my backpack. Or use the power bank as a pass-through to use both the cables. Or accept the fate and shutdown my primary phone partially* or completely.
*Partial shutdown means disabling certain services and features to save power without fully shutting down everything. This does usually not mean using a battery saver. I use MIUI, it is already fairly unpredictable and regular battery saver** only makes this situation worse.
**There’s also ultra battery saver which kills everything deemed unnecessary running in the background. That couldn’t be more predictable.
Airplane mode is also pretty good to save battery.
That also turns off some other stuff for whatever reason (Bluetooth, WiFi client, WiFi hotspot, Legacy WiFi direct group). I only use the hidden “Disable mobile radio power” toggle. A bit more control that way.
Disabling Bluetooth for example has the undesired effect of disabling Bluetooth Tethering which then needs to be manually re-enabled, and it’s not like Bluetooth creates noticeable battery drain. That’s kinda its point. Low energy requirements.

Now that’s using yer noggin!
Now I can’t unhear that voice
🐻 waka waka waka!
Is there any reason to not put the phone on the charging brick?
Being on the metro the phone
couldwill easily fall when accelerating and brakingI can never vet mine to balance, I can’t line up my phones centre of gravity because the wall is always in the way.
the vetting process can indeed be very difficult
Marcille-ass dungeon-meshi sketch all like “I can just order grub hub if I need it.”

There is now an IMAP community and this has been reposted there. :)
I’m sorry, IMAP? Like… The mail protocol?
“I missed a picture”. All resemblance to email protocols real or imagined is purely coincidental.
Seems like crossposting is an effective way to seed a community, because the crosspost got about 120 upvotes, and the subscriber count is now up to 60.
I prefer POP3.
I wish her the very best

That’s cool
If america didn’t have the worst plugs in the world this wouldn’t be a problem. You could just balance it on top like a well run country.
Delhi Metro
Unless th US also has a Delhi…
But a metro? One can dream.
Oh yeah.
She just looked white as fuck and because it’s English I figured it had to be American plugs because they are the worst.
American plugs do suck.
americans thinking like everything on lemme is related to them
Mate. I know. I fucked up. That’s on me.
But please don’t call me an American, not even I deserve that.
im sorry but have you seen the UK plug? Or even the broader euro plug? Or like, the aussie plug? Or like, literally any other country.
Yes.
UK plug is best in the world. Has three prongs so earth is always there. Also it pushes the protectors out if the way to open up the live socket so nothing can be incorrectly put in there. It’s solid and won’t fall out, you could hang a child off of that. Every plug has a fuse to protects the house and helps prevent fires. Live and neutral are partially covered in plastic so nothing can touch it when it is half in and the circuit is live.
EU plug is way sturdier that the shitty American’s plug. American plug looks like it is designed to fall out the EU plug stays in.
The aus plug is with weakest of the three because it is so similar to the american but at least it is tilted in a logical manner to stop a fucking plug falling out of the wall.
All three are based on a decent electrical supply so electrical items actually work
and you cant balance shit on top of the UK plug, i don’t even know if the top is flat but more importantly, it’s like 1/2-3/4 in thick at most, so it’s going to be precarious at best.
The US plug is pretty damn rugged, it’s just prone to gravity pulling it out over time if it’s loose or has a lot of weight hanging on it. Aside from that it’s not terrible, though the shock hazard is a little spooky.
All three are based on a decent electrical supply so electrical items actually work
unlike the brits we actually had copper before and after the war times, so our electrical lobbys lobbied for 120v standard, and we got it, mixed with 240v mid tap neutral phase for ground reference, so our 240v is actually safer than your euro 240v. as unless you touch BOTH lines, you can only get a 120v shock, though that does also mean both leads can give the potential for a 120v shock as opposed to only the live side (unless you have a floating neutral which can give you a decent shock) though both will obviously, give you a 240v potential shock. And our 120v is two separate phases, so that’s fun.
If you want to rant about how much better your electrical system is talk about RCDs, and then never fucking mention ring circuits because those are silly.
shitposting over.
