I saw a cool Taiko drumming performance, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice

Taiko is real cool. On a somewhat related note, at the college I attend, one of the clubs got a dance group and a Hong Kong dizi player to come for a Chinese/Lunar New Year event. It was really cool. They even got a couple women that due Indian dance and even one of the staff participated in some Indian dance. It was absolutely amazing.

I can’t wait for tonight, though, since there’s a Chinese/Lunar New Year event going on in my hometown that the college club I’m in has a table at. I have an hour shift, but I get to go to the event and have a good time. I’m hoping the person who made this zombie bunny thing I got last year is there again because I wouldn’t mind getting another one.

Other than that, it was a pretty good week, after I bought a new charging brick for my laptop out of necessity last Monday.

Does my answer matter? No, but you asked.

My identity doesn’t intersect with a single disparaged people group. Every day the past two weeks I have swung between feeling depressed about the state of the world and about how my friends and family members are living in a country that wants them to either not exist or get pregnant twice every twelve months, and feeling like it’s somehow possible for me to ignore all of the destruction the new administration has already caused. I don’t imagine myself living past 50 with all the stress from these insane unjustifiable mood swings that I’m anticipating over the next 4 years (at least :( )

Extreme fear of being sent to a concentration camp (yes we have those now) for simply existing. So I’m now stuck at home more and more as if I get stoped and have to give my papers to a cop there’s a good chance I’ll be arrested for just existing and sent to a concentration camp.

I did my taxes today and owed the feds $5 and my state $50. Guess I’m not using my tax refund to buy my next gpu.

Just gonna not pay my taxes next year. They don’t deserve my money.

It goes without saying that the U.S. tax system is terrible.

That said, owing some money at filing time is more efficient for you. If you are owed a refund, it means that you are getting paid back an interest-free loan that you offered to the government for the year. Offering that loan to Uncle Sam gives you zero benefit. If you want to save the money for a big purchase, it’s better off sitting in a interest-earning savings account, at the very least.

On the other hand, if you owe money at filing time, it means the government offered you an interest-free loan. You were able to take advantage of it throughout the year, and ideally put that money to good use. Now you have to pay it back, but at least you don’t have to pay interest on it.

The later scenario is part of why underpayment penalties exist.

Of course the whole system is pretty terrible especially as knowing the number at filing time requires reading a damn horoscope or something. But with a bit of savvy and planning, you can end up with a better outcome.

Watching the government Collapse% speedrun attempt. It’s going fast, but not fast enough for even a top10 I don’t think.

Please keep trying. Fwiw, this past week has been a helluva year decade century!

Although as Josh Johnson’s latest comedy special mentions, most of the new orders don’t even accomplish anything at all - they are just something to keep a certain someone busy.

Even so, buckle in for a bit of a wild ride.

Let’s see, my tax returns have afforded me the ability to buy a PC for me and my boys (mostly to play games and for my oldest to write code). The gaming chair came yesterday, and my boys and I spent the evening putting it together. We all had a blast. I can’t wait for the rest of the parts to come in, as I’ll be teaching them how to build a pc.

I woke up yesterday so happy that it was finally Friday. I started thinking about my normal Friday routine, thinking about the special Friday night dinner plans. Sat down at my computer to get logged in for the day and realized that it was actually only Thursday morning. Bummer.

Needless to say, I survived that whole day and made it to the next, as evidenced by this comment, so now it’s officially, really Friday. Yay for me!

There’s just been so much bad news on so many fronts as of late, so I’m hoping to either stay super busy this weekend to keep my mind occupied or I’m hoping it will be a super laid back and lazy weekend so I can have some time to decompress. Suppose I’ll figure it out when I get out of bed tomorrow morning.

Had the flu all week. I’ve been napping and watching quiz shows, taking advantage of being able to hibernate away from the world for a bit.

The atomoxetine feels like it’s helping manage my ADHD well, I’m getting 3 to 5 hours of mental productivity per day where before I was getting that much in a whole week.

I take that too, and feel like it’s not really helping. Do you mind if I ask what dosage you’re at?

        2 x 40 mg capsules.

I’ve been on it for about a month, and started noticing effects after two weeks or so.

If it isn’t working for you, let your doc/psychiatrist know.
