In the UK all primary school students and all students who can’t afford it get free school meals.
In the US they prevent third parties from paying student lunch debts! Truly the greatest.
Poor kids in the US can get free school lunches, but this requires paperwork by the parents, puts stigma on the kid, and that food isn’t enough to make up for the kid getting no breakfast, no snack, maybe no dinner.
It really is shameful.
They probably then suspended him for breaking some school food rule.

It’s wholesome, yes, but they should’ve been helped by the school system instead of one of their peers. The kid shouldn’t have had to do anything.
