ICE has shown to be intolerant and to use excessive violent. So if you support ICE, you support intolerance and excessive violence.

Kids were doing an anti-ICE protest at school. The kid recording had a “I support ICE” sign.

I thought it stops being a paradox when you realize it’s part of the social contract. Violate it too much and you’re no longer guaranteed society’s succor.

Ultimately, it’s all a wash. The nazis we are punching would say their targets broke the social contract first. Tolerance should be an aspect of your morality, not the whole thing (and hopefully, that being said, your morality says punching nazis is okay).

Nope. The concept of the contract is that those who do not practice tolerance are not protected by it.

It’s also worth exploring what intolerance is.

Thinking members of a religion/party/social group are wrong or crazy isn’t being intolerant - that’s simply disagreement. Intolerance is saying they shouldn’t be allowed to exist or to have the same rights as you.

The fascists discriminate on religion, sexual orientaion/identity, gender, political affiliation, race, national origin, and more. They are wildly intolerant, and therefore do not have to be tolerated.

I keep thinking about how much this kid rules. He warns the other kid instead of suckering punching him, understands and accepts the consequences of his actions before he takes them, then acts without hesitation. Not only does he punch fascists, he does it with principles.

The Filmer is trying to get some Charlie Kirk attention and launch his streaming career or some shit, instead no one knows who that fucking creep is, but we all know the face of who hit him.

The filmer looks like such a punk, tall, acting cool, doing the “I have a right to be a fascist, what are you gonna do about it” bit. the kid who threw the punch is about as unassuming as you can be, probably not super popular, kind of a big guy, when he speaks, there is a waver in his voice from not being the kind of guy who initiates violence that even comes off as sort of meek. He probably got made fun of by people like the Filmer.

But the Filmer captured this brief moment, not the face of a fascist getting punched, but of the righteous anger and imperative to defend the defenseless, coming for your fascist ass. Those who try to get along, who believe in kindness and humanity, unable to be civilized about smug incivility.

I’m making these details up, I dont know anything about these young people personally, but thats the message we received. Smug self interest advocating the destruction of lives, gleefulness in the face of incredible fascist violence; met with the rising tide of popular anger against this acute sickness at the heart of a sick society.

Humanity vs the inhumane, in one still image. A picture that says more than 1000 words, it speaks to a growing sentiment among many. We see him and we see ourselves, or who we think more people aught to be.

As much as people enjoyed Waltz’ performance in the opening scene and how utterly cold and ruthless his facial expression was when he asked the Frenchman “You’re hiding enemies of the state, aren’t you”, can we all just take a moment to appreciate how he also pulled off looking exactly like the pathetic and cowardly fascist he portrays in this very image?

I coulda went for the Conan (Barbarian, not O’Brien) quote, but felt Tyson was more salient. That said, may as well drop the Conan quote too.

I’ve heard a reasoning that 4chan is always a counterculture site against the current culture, and if 4chan starts to be more similar to my beliefs, then we have some problems in here.

4chan mainly is a place for the social outcasts. Thus, the moment you begin to relate to the people on 4chan is the moment you detach from your faith into the goodness of society.

Not only that, but there’s evidence they have been used as useful idiots. People who could be so easily manipulated that they would vote against their best interests. Gamergate and pizzagate are some examples of this and Republicans using christianity is another.

Yes and the other kid was just a spinless little asshole who needed to learn that irl actions have consequences.

From how the rest of the interaction went I’m afraid that’s the opposite of what he learned after the police intervened

Agreed, I’m proud of the puncher, but the video was obviously posted by this little Stephen Miller Jr prick who got exactly what he wanted.

I don’t know what the answer is but I think it might be more violence?

I have a theory that a lot of things are going to get more violent after the election. A Democratic Congress will greatly restrain the President, greatly reducing the disincentive to dispense street justice on ICE. On the off chance that Republicans manage to hold Congress by stealing the election, waiting on democracy will no longer be tenable, which means it’s game on.
