Just a hunch, but are you seeing more and more power outages (in the US)?
Ive been seeing a lot more than usual (in temperate weather too, not storms) and I really wonder how much of it is due to data centers. I’d love to put all the blame on them of course but I could be wrong too.
Climate change, flaky software, crappy maintenance, etc. It’s been going on longer than the AI thing.
Oh for sure. But its definitely not helping
Lack of maintenance will do that too. They’re beholden to shareholders.
EVERYTHING in US infrastructure is collapsing. Bridges are falling apart. Roads are falling apart. Water systems. Sewage systems. Electrical systems. You name it, it’s in slow-mo (usually) collapse.
In 2025 the American Society of Civil Engineers gave a score of C on their report card. This is the highest score the USA has ever had since the ASCE started issuing these report cards.
Note that: the highest grade ever. Was a bare pass. Here’s the overall summary:

Note where the energy sector comes in.
The ASCE has been issuing these report cards since 1998, well before the slop bots came into existence. Things have actually improved since then courtesy of a huge cash injection in 2021 that led to the USA’s first C rating ever.
Placebo. Only sketchy generators are running the AI data centers.
