Ruger LCP MAX Gets Magpul Enhanced Handgun Grip Treatment

Ruger has teamed up with Magpul to deliver a new variant of the LCP MAX chambered in .380 Auto, this time wearing Magpul's Enhanced Handgun Grip (EHG).The collaboration brings a purpose-built grip module to one of the smallest and lightest pocket pistols on the market, wrapping it in a package that Ruger says improves control and shootability without growing the platform's footprint.

    I’ll be interested to see how it compares to the Bodyguard 2.0. I have an LCP II that is painful to shoot more than a mag or two out of, and the comped BG 2 which is actually pleasant and accurate in my hands.

      In my experience LCPs start to become unreliable after about 4 mags, so even if you’d hung in there it would just jam. Better ergonomics is nice, but bad ones aren’t a huge dealbreaker for a pocket pistol carried with a single mag.

        That’s pretty much how I felt about it, but it’s nice to be able to shoot it more. I find that I’m much more accurate with the BG 2.0 than I was with the LCP. In part, I think that’s because I shoot it a lot more.

        I never noticed a reliability problem with my lcp2. I don’t think I ever shot more than 50 rounds through it at one range session, but I did shoot a box through it on more than one session. I just wore gloves, which took a lot of the sting out of it.

        I have fairly large hands, but I have found that hockey tape is a huge improvement for all of my micro pistols.
