Immigration is extremely important economically. New immigrants take jobs that average citizens wouldn’t, and can provide a large low-income population base, which keeps goods and services flowing, where they could otherwise stagnate with a more settled customer base. Anyone that claims the opposite is just trying to obfuscate their racsim.
Maybe economically yeah, I rather thought culture wise where relying too much on immigrants brings it’s own set of problems.

Both Japan and Korea have very specific cultures, and yeah, they screw their work life balance. IIRC Japan is currently working on changing that. But that’s their culture - part of their nation - and flooding it with immigrants erases not only bad parts but also good ones. Hell, look at Germany that struggles with immigrants as far as I know.

Was pretty scared going in but now I’m glad I did it. 0 kids, haven’t ever wanted them. Lost a ltr because the woman I was seeing decided she did want kids after 5 years together (where we previously agreed we both did not want them).
After we split I got a little foot loose with dating and realized I should just make my decision to be childless my own and permanent, why risk it for myself or others.

Even before the collaps of our climate and society became apparent to me having kids didn’t sit well with me considering the tens of thousands of kids in our child care system at any given moment.
Tens of thousands of lives that will be significantly worse, developing addictions and unhealthy coping mechanisms, unhealthy relationships, going straight from the group home to prison or the streets, all of it exists because people would rather selfishly continue their own genetic legacy instead of adopting a perfectly good kid that already exists and is suffering.
I got mine done almost two years ago. I think it will be two years in March. My partner and I are 100% sure we never want to do the pregnancy thing and are like 95-99% sure we don’t want kids at all. If we ever change our minds on that front, there are orphanages full of kids of all ages just waiting for a loving home and I don’t expect that will change any time soon in this cruel world so we’ve got plenty of time to have a family when we want one, and in the meantime, I don’t want any accidents.
Plus, getting to rawdog my girl whenever I want is a huge bonus!

Or more kids. I already have two; no way do I want more; and up until this week, abortion has been illegal in Missouri. That includes pretty much any sort of reproductive care that would result from a pregnancy. No way would I want my wife to get pregnant again in this day and age.

We need people who want to raise children so abuse and broken people aren’t a constant output. To make people want children, they need a future in which they feel they can raise a person. Nah, children fucking suck. All of them. I was born and raised in the middle of the US and since I was young I knew I never wanted children. I wouldn’t be a good parent so it would be unfair to bring a human into this shitty world and then have them rely on me to raise them. It’s irresponsible and quite frankly unethical to have kids just because procreation is necessary for the human species to to grow. There are plenty of people that want them that the rest of us aren’t required for sustainability.
The world could use a couple of billion less people anyway.

Seeing as how the literal world we all inhabit is getting hotter and hotter, for longer stretches of time, with water wars going on right now that will only get worse as it keeps staying hotter, governments around the world turning their backs on the people they are supposed to help, and the increase in plastic pollution (let alone pollution IN GENERAL), and the growing wage gap across the world, humans being literal slaves to other countries for cheap labor, and so so so many more issues, I believe that bringing in another human is indeed a shitty thing to do.
