I have a girl cat named Preggo.

We rescued her during a tornado storm, in Arkansas, and we thought she was pregnant so I just called her Preggo.
By the time we got her to the vet we found out she’s not pregnant, just fat and weird, however by that time she got used to being called Preggo so we just kept that up.

We name all the cats regardless of sex after something to do with literature. But that’s their government names and I normally don’t use those online to protect their tiny kitty privacy.

    All their nicknames are like

Jerkcat Babycat Dingus YOU FUCKER STOP CHEWING PLASTIC creature Sweetie Grey ghost Great hunter

Look, just anything that pops into my head as I sing sweet nothings to them

Current cat is creature often. Little weird creature.

Names of my kitties over more than two decades:

    Girls: Nova, Athena

Boys: Casper (black), Cocoa (white with blue eyes), Marconi

    All kitties have dignified names.

Hahaha. One of the medical assistants read his name as Macaroni. The vet was like, “He’s named for the discoverer of radio, right?” I affirmed and he made her apologize, which I thought was unnecessary. I guess he wanted my kitty to have the dignity of being addressed by his correct name. I told her I didn’t mind.

I love your vet. My dog was born on 4/20, so I wanted a weed-based name that wasn’t obvious. I looked through a huge list of marijuana euphemisms and as soon as I saw Macaroni, I knew it was his name.

Our usual dispensaries are all dog friendly, so we take him there to get pets. We love telling the story of his name there, Stephen always get a kink out of it.

    Luna - male

    Eclipse - female

    Madame (formally Freya) - female

    Bat - female

    Ding - male

Rainbow bridge: Gaia - female, Apollo - female

Bat and Ding had those names at the shelter and we didn’t see a reason to change them. Luna … We were told he was a she as a kitten, and after a week of proper nutrition we saw the boy bits and just kept the name. Apollo was purposely named that way because we already had one swap and then we’d have the sun and moon.

If bat and ding are patterned/spotted. Then the dingbat joke kind of fits. (Dingbat characters are characters used in printing, that instead of being letters are ornamental pictograms, which from a far look like ink spots most of the time. i swear i remember there being long, whispy characters made as edge fillers, but i can’t find them anywhere.)

    Chalupa Batman and Osiris.

    lol.

All of my cats were named after Star Wars characters. No one, regardless of assigned gender, needs to be named “ Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos.”
